| dc.description.abstract | The impact of exports on the economic growth in Uganda has been an area of debate. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of exports on economic growth in Uganda. The study utilized annual secondary data from 1980-2020 covering 41 years. The study employed. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model approach to investigate the short and long run relationship between exports of goods and services with economic growth rate. Co-integration tests using both Pesaran Shin and Smith bound test and Kripfganz-Schneider critical values with approximate p-values confirmed the presence of co-integration between export growth and economic growth. The results revealed that exports significantly affect both short-run and long-run economic growth in Uganda within the study period. The Ugandan government is encouraged to implement measures that foster exports for sustained economic growth. | en_US |
