    Abstract
This report shows the core engineering and management practices that I have encountered and undertaken in ensuring effective performance of Kibeba – Ruteete production Boreholes Motorization project. I was assigned as a Project Supervisor conducting the roles of the Engineer in a project under the mentorship and leadership of the District Engineer - Isingiro District in western Uganda. The objective of this consolidated report is to demonstrate my experiences and knowledge in engineering management, investigations, budget planning and construction supervision. The contract sum for the project implementation was UGX. 2,238,957,294 shillings only and it is being funded by DRDIP under DCRM in the OPM to be supervised and closely monitored by Head of Works and Technical Services. The first phase of the project (Deep Boreholes Siting, Drilling Feasibility Studies, Drilling and Construction and Test Pumping) at UGX. 104,000,000 became effective from 16th – 23rd July, 2021. The second phase which was design and documentation at UGX. 33,000,000 commenced from 4th August, 2021 up-to 30th November, 2021. The final and the third phase which was the design implementation at UGX. 2,101,957,294 took off beginning from 20th January – 20th July 2022. Construction management was done to verify the adherence to the design of the design information provided by the design consultant in line with the terms of reference. This was expected to improve level of service, functionality and capacity of the project and its structures while putting into consideration the cost, quality and time. During the project implementation, I used to report to the District Engineer and I was responsible for coordinating all engineering and non-engineering activities of the project. The challenges encountered during project implementation included: the inadequate funds on the side of the contractor which affected timely completion of the project, inadequate supply of materials since some materials were not readily available on the open market and needed a special order from the industrial suppliers, poor drainage due to the nature of topography in the project area, inadequate project supervision and monitoring due to the little funds allocated under the project appraisal, poor budget, illegal connections on the system, bad weather conditions, late coming of both skilled and un-skilled labor, poor budget planning, Lack of motivation which negatively affected my work and the project.
