    Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the contribution of H4KI to the development of Tororo District, Uganda. The objectives of the study were to analyse the activities of H4KI towards development in Tororo District, its contribution to the development of the beneficiary communities and investigate the challenges which it was facing. The study employed the Modernisation theory to guide the analysis and discussion of the research findings. It employed a case study design and a qualitative research method of data collection. It covered a sample of 40 respondents. It employed interview guides to help gathering information from the key informants on the activities of H4KI, its contribution to the development of the beneficiary communities and the challenges it faced during the implementation of the development programmes in its sphere of operation. Its findings included child sponsorship, water4kids, mission for character, dress a girl, medical outreaches, hope4women, lifesaving village medicine, food relief, adopt a village and constructing religious facilities as some of the activities H4KI carry out in Tororo District. The H4KI faced challenges like communication barrier, inadequate human resource, insecurity, financial constraints and political interference. Its key recommendation was for H4KI to priotize payment of fees for the children under its care so as to reduce on expenditure staff through meetings, training and seminars.
